Spirit Day – November 3
Have your child show their school spirit by wearing red on Friday, November 3. All children wearing red can enter a draw to win a prize!
Direct Donation Campaign Update
After one week, we have raised $1,700 which is slightly more than 2 laptops! Woo-hoo! It would be great if we could double that by this time next week. Donation information can be found here.
Thank you to Evie for adjusting the ‘do-nometer’ for us!
Activities
The PAC November Calendar is now available.
Rugby
We are waiting for confirmation from Rugby Canada on whether the Rugby session scheduled for Tuesday, October 31 will be postponed due to Halloween. Once confirmed we will post a notice on the PAC notice board. If you can’t get to the notice board, please contact either Hannah at the school office or Nicola – hudsonactivities@gmail.com for confirmation on whether it will go ahead or not.
Lego Lunchtime
This is a super popular activity with the K & 1 group. Last week the teacher had 13 kids turn up, of which only 8 were registered! If your child would like to join the club there are two more sessions to go. Non-registered children cannot sit in for the session, but they are welcome to join by bringing $20 cash – or you can contact the Bricks4Kids coordinator directly at vancouver@bricks4kidz.com. Otherwise, we’ll be running it again next term, so please join us then.

Advocacy
Our advocacy updates are for information only, to encourage informed parent participation in issues affecting public education, and do not represent specific positions of the Hudson PAC executive.
Seismic Issues
The link to the Seismic Upgrades petition, started by Hudson parent Laura MacDougall, remains on our homepage. If you haven’t already, please show your support and take a moment to sign it. The PAC’s Seismic Committee is in the process of inviting PACs at all other not-yet-upgraded high-risk schools in BC to share this link with their communities. Please also consider helping this get wider distribution by spreading the link through any of your own wider networks.
Interested in participating in the Hudson PAC’s Seismic Committee? Please contact Laura at laura_macdougall@hotmail.com.
