Q. What does a scientist have in common with a flight attendant? What does a doctor have in common with a dog salon owner? What does a lawyer have in common with a special effects computer engineer? What does a professor have in common with a systems analyst? What does a neuroscientist have in common with a dance therapist? What does an architect have to do with an international seafood broker? Answer: They are all Hudson parents.
Hudson Guest Speakers Program presented the 1st ever Careers in The Community Day on Wednesday May 9.
Every speaker today was a parent or grandparent of a Hudson student. We had 14 parent volunteers who generously shared their time to speak to the children about their educational paths and their careers. The event was an inspirational job fair for students to get thinking about potential careers. We heard from an architect, marketing co. executive, Federal fisheries contamination specialist, a physician, an artisan, a dancer- therapist, dog groomer shop owner, a teacher naturopath, a flight attendant, an IT specialist, a software architect, a lawyer-professor, a behavioral neuroscientist and a seafood broker. Students were invited to ask questions of our parent panelists following the presentations. If students have further questions, they may contact Victoria and she will forward questions to our guest speakers.
Victoria Shroff, the Hudson parent volunteer who organizes the guest speakers program would like to warmly thank PAC, Mr.Cannon, teachers and all our parent volunteers for making this event a resounding success. Special thanks to Rootbeer and Cooper, our two canine guests and Max and Gabby, our student helpers.
