Dear Hudson Parents,
We’ve put together a very full schedule (See Term 3 Activities Schedule) of dozens of activities for the students to take part in if they wish after school and at lunchtimes! So much to choose from this term! Yay!
For Term III, we have been working with the VSB Community Schools Team to create one seamless Registration event for all the lunchtime and after-school activities.
Please see very important information below and attached. And see you on Thursday in the gym at the Activities Registration Fair!
Best,
Marina Percy

PLANT YOUR OWN POTATO! JOIN US FOR THE TOONIE TATERS PROJECT!
Thursday March 10th 2pm-3:30pm
The Hudson PAC Grounds Improvement Committee, in an exciting new partnership with the School Greening Committee and SPEC, invite you to take part in our first ever Toonie Taters Project!
For just a Toonie, your child will plant his or her own seed potato in a planter, and then label the planter with his or her name. A family can also choose an entire planter of 5 seed potatoes for $10, and label that planter with the students/family name.
We will have 20 planters to fill on Wednesday, and another 20 planters to fill on Thursday. Each planter will hold 5 seed potatoes.
We have the soil, the planters, the water, and the seed potatoes. All we need is lots of student gardeners eager to come and plant their potatoes!
**We are looking for volunteers to help set up the planters, fill them with soil, and help the students with planting and labelling, and then with watering once planted that day!** If you can lend a hand for 30 minutes before or after your student/teacher conference (and before/after you enjoy the Book Fair), please let us know! There will be a sign up sheet outside the office, or just email me directly marina@freshstrategy.com
**Extra shovels, wheelbarrows, and planting spades will come in handy!! Bring what you can!!**

Update about Long Range School Facilities Planning and Seismic Upgrade Schedule Meeting
Please read the following note from Marina Percy, Hudson PAC Chair. She has been lobbying tirelessly with a group of dedicated Hudson parents to look after Hudson’s future as we grow in population in the coming years and as Vancouver looks to follow through with much-needed seismic upgrades. Many thanks for all of their efforts and time!
January 20, 2016
I just got home from the very long Committee II meeting! Things went great… All the relationship building and lobbying with Trustees has boded very well. Three Trustees made comments and recommendations that Hudson (along with two over-populated H1 schools also not previously on this this list), now be included in the following High Priority Seismic Upgrade Project List (the “A” List, shall we call it?!). All Committee II Trustees but one voted in favour, all with positive supportive comments added. Motion carried.
