IMPORTANT ADVOCACY MOMENT NOTICE FROM Parent Advocacy Network

Monday April 25 at 7:00pm is the final VSB public consultation session before Trustees vote on the proposed budget for the coming school year.
This proposed VSB Budget reflects 10+ years of administrative and other cuts and NOW more than ever before, this budget will be materially damaging to education in Vancouver and the equity within our systemThese $24M in cuts will be detrimental to ALL our children in their classrooms and will be felt for years to come.
Parent Advocacy Network members believe this budget is unsupportable and it’s time to TAKE A STAND!
WHO: Parent Advocacy Network members and all parents/PACs in Vancouver
WHAT: Wear RED and STAND with us

WHEN: 7:00-7:30pm, Mon Apr 25

WHERE: Auditorium/gymnasium at Tupper Secondary Sch
ool, 419 East 24th Avenue, near Fraser & King Edward/25th

The Parent Advocacy Network (PAN) will be presenting at 7pm – and this time we are asking Trustees to unite and REJECT the Budget and DEMAND the Government provide adequate and stable funding for public education as is their legal obligation.

We invite all parents/guardians, grandparents, aunts and uncles and families to STAND with us and WEAR RED as a visible indication of protest – BC Budget is in the Black and BC Ed is in the RED – and support the #BCEDINRED campaign

This is our best opportunity to make a visible statement and protest the continued government underfunding. We NEED your support – Please make an effort to Join us and TAKE A STAND! When its our turn to present, we ask all those in attendance to STAND UP in their RED!

Hudson PAC encourages Henry Hudson Parents, and Students, to attend, and to wear your Hawks Spirit Hoodies, t-shirts and hats, or anything Red, to show your support for our children and the future of their education!

PLANT YOUR OWN POTATO! JOIN US FOR THE TOONIE TATERS PROJECT!

Wednesday March 9th 2pm-3:30pm
Thursday March 10th 2pm-3:30pm

The Hudson PAC Grounds Improvement Committee, in an exciting new partnership with the School Greening Committee and SPEC, invite you to take part in our first ever
Toonie Taters Project!
For just a Toonie, your child will plant his or her own seed potato in a planter, and then label the planter with his or her name. A family can also choose an entire planter of 5 seed potatoes for $10, and label that planter with the students/family name.
We will have 20 planters to fill on Wednesday, and another 20 planters to fill on Thursday. Each planter will hold 5 seed potatoes.
We have the soil, the planters, the water, and the seed potatoes. All we need is lots of student gardeners eager to come and plant their potatoes!

**We are looking for volunteers to help set up the planters, fill them with soil, and help the students with planting and labelling, and then with watering once planted that day!**
If you can lend a hand for 30 minutes before or after your student/teacher conference (and before/after you enjoy the Book Fair), please let us know! There will be a sign up sheet outside the office, or just email me directly marina@freshstrategy.com

**Extra shovels, wheelbarrows, and planting spades will come in handy!! Bring what you can!!**

(When students harvest the potatoes in September, we then plan on having a fun Potato Potluck! Students can make your favourite potato dish and share with their friends!)
