Constable Heather Montgomery of the Vancouver Police Department attended Henry Hudson today to speak to intermediate and seniors children and parents about the timely topic of internet safety. The presentation was informative, interactive and lively offering kids and parents practical tips such as:
- do not allow a computer or other device in your child’s bedroom;
- know what your child is doing and who they are interacting with online;
- be mindful before posting pictures of yourself or others (a bad posting is forever);
- have a designated parent or adult whom the child can speak to about internet safety issues as they arise.
