WANT TO VOLUNTEER?
We will be posting an Online Volunteer Signup Form for all parents who wish to volunteer for any Hot Lunch days this term (as well as any other PAC events!). It will be posted in the next few days. Parents will be able to go into the online form and sign up for days and shifts as per your availability. The online form will be available for all Hudson School Community to access. Also this term: we are engaging with students to participate as set up and clean up teams for each Hot Lunch. This fits in well with the Project Based Curriculum set out by BC Govt and VSB, and is highly supported by our Principal and Teachers. It also reduces the toll on parent volunteers.
IN NEED OF A SUBSIDY OR SPONSORSHIP? Please contact Prinicipal Cannon icannon@vsb.bc.ca or Marina Percy marina@freshstrategy.com

Reminders Dec 12-16, 2016

Phew! We did it!! We successful got through Term I of the 2016/17 Year, with literally, lots of Flying Colours! Let’s all give our kids and ourselves a big hand! The entire Hudson Hawk school community can leave at the ned this week and enjoy a great holiday break knowing we really soared together this term! Kudos to all!!
A  few quick reminders for this week:
HAWK FRIDAY CONTINUES! DROP, SWAP AND SHOP FOR FREE TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY!
There are still many great kids books, toys, games and clothes in the boys change room for families in want or need of items this holiday season! Please feel free to swap or shop for free! Please try to keep things neatly arranged. Just take what you need. Parents feel free to continue to drop items until Weds afternoon, and continue to shop or swap items until Thursday afternoon. After that, all items left on Friday morning will be taken to Elizabeth Fry Society and family shelters.  The idea is that parents to drop, swap, shop for their families. Kids may go into the change room only if they are with an adult overseeing them. If you are uncomfortable with drop swap or shopping for free, please make a donation to Hudson PAC Sponsorships, that will be earmarked for priority families towards subsidies and sponsorships such as field trips, after school programs, and Hot Lunch.
HOT LUNCHES
Hot Lunches this week are on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for all who ordered. You can still order for Thursday (until Midnight tonight) and for Friday (until Midnight tomorrow night).
ACTIVITIES
All lunchtime and after school activities have now completed for this term. We are close to finalizing the schedule for next term. All activities are returning in some shape or form. Most on the days and times. We are also adding a few new activities. I will include dates, times and intructor contacts for registration for all activities by Friday. Note for Term II parents will register directly with instructors, and will follow the instructors payment arrangements.
LOST AND FOUND
Please make sure to go through the Lost and Founds (Foyer, Gym, Basement, and Drawer in Office) by end of week. Any items left by end of day Friday will be taken to various shelters and support organizations for families in need.
CLASSROOM CLEAR OUT
Please remember to bring home all your child’s extra cubby items that are just ‘hanging around’. And anything the teacher asks you to bring from his/her desk as well.
EXTENDED HOLIDAYS/ABSENTEEISM
Note that if you are extending your holidays past just a few days when school re-opens January 3rd, the school policy to inform the office so they know that your child is still enrolled at Hudson but is just on extended holidays. Due to our lengthy waitlist to get in, it is incumbent for parents to make sure any lengthy absenteeism is communicated to the Office to ensure that it is not mistaken for a family leaving the school and potentially losing their spot.
CLASS PARTIES
Many classes have end of Term parties in their classes. Check with your teacher about your child’s class plans.
